No. You can take the 60-second typing test, play games, and see your results without signing up — your progress is saved locally in your browser. Creating a free account (email or Google) lets you sync progress across devices, appear on leaderboards, and keep a long-term history.

How is my WPM calculated?

TypeRise uses the global standard "net WPM": we count every 5 characters as one word, divide by the time taken, and subtract uncorrected errors. This is the same method used by most professional typing tests, so your score is comparable across platforms.
